A festival of first-class classical music, food and wine taking place around St Cecilia's Day (22 November) in one of London's finest old City livery halls. Top-class classical musicians from around the world, the St Cecilia lecture, choral events at nearby St Bride's church (whose links with the Festival date back over 300 years) and even a Sunday brunch - all in honour of St Cecilia, Patron Saint of Music. Evenings begin in the ancient oak-panelled Stock Room of Stationers' Hall with a canapé reception. Every concert includes a champagne interval and festival-goers have the opportunity to complete the entertainment in style with an optional black-tie banquet afterwards. Enjoy a wide range of music in a venue largely unchanged since Henry Purcell himself performed here in the 1690s. "one of the most prestigious events in the City calendar" (Classical Music) |
