2006 is the fifteenth year of our musical celebrations for St Ceciliatide. Once again this unique festival takes place in the splendid setting of the Stationers’ Hall – just a stone’s throw away from St Pauls’ Cathedral.

In a packed weekend of events we mark two significant anniversaries – Mozart’s 250th, and the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian Uprising in 1956.

We explore music that stretches from 16th-century England, via Germany and Austro-Hungary, to the folk music of the Carpathian mountains.

Among our visitors are Maggie Cole – brilliant supremo of the fortepiano – who performs Mozart with the festival’s resident orchestra; and Andrei Pidkivka – dazzling flautist and devotee of Eastern European folk culture – who shares the delights of music from his native Ukraine.

Rising star, Jennifer Morsches plays unaccompanied Bach on baroque cello, the Fiori Musicali choir present two of Byrd’s wonderful Latin Mass settings and the choir of St Bride’s perform Kodaly for the festal Eucharist at St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street.

And don’t forget the popular champagne brunch on Sunday morning, accompanied by lively Hungarian music from Pidkivka and star cimbalom player Dezider Oláh – both back by popular demand.

We look forward to welcoming you to another outstanding festival of first-class classical music, food and wine, taking place once again in one of London's finest old City livery halls, where very little has changed since Henry Purcell first performed there in the 1690s.
